Jim has spent more than 25 years advising individuals and business owners in the areas of business succession and estate planning. With a strong background in legal and financial matters, he has worked with clients developing strategies to enable them to maximize and protect their wealth.
Jim brings a broad complement of financial experience and expertise to his estate law practice. He is currently based in Overland Park, Kansas. Jim also led the legal and compliance department for B.C. Christopher Securities Co. and provided estate planning and business succession advice as an advanced underwriter for Central Life Assurance Co. He started his career auditing trust departments for the Iowa Department of Banking.
Jim is a licensed attorney in Kansas and Missouri. He graduated from Drake University School of Law with a specialization in estate planning and tax, and earned his bachelor's degree in history at the University of Vermont.
An avid runner and swimmer, Jim completed the Boston Marathon twice and has run in more than 300 distance races. He's won his age group six times in the Mid-America region racing competition series. Jim and his wife Lori have been married more than 30 years and they have three children in their 20's.
